In this exhibition, I continue my investigation into how the physical properties of light can transform ordinary objects as if we are viewing them in a new dimension…or in another world. These minimalist works communicate, in form and installation, an examination of the materiality of things and their reflectivity, while also investigating the theme of the “Many Worlds” theory in quantum physics. I work with materials such as cardboard concrete casting tubes and wood in various states of finish under different lighting conditions. I also use inexpensive party laser lights, crystal balls, and photographs to create these visual landscapes in this show. As always, creating light art sculptures and installations is a deeply personal act for me about bringing light into the darkness and dimness, literally and figuratively, and examining the ephemeral nature of reality.
